Duratec Australia were engaged by Diploma Constructions to carry out specialist concrete remedial works to the balconies and internal building at 726 Hay St, Perth.
The works involve waterproofing to balconies, application of MCI, Xypex topping installations, conventional concrete repair, crack injection and glass flake coatings application. Internal beam repairs are being carried out with the use of sacrificial anodes with both the form and pour method as well as with patch repairs.
This Heritage Listed site is the old Walsh’s building that was originally built in 1923 and is being converted into new offices and retail tenancies. It has an art deco style of architecture on the external facade.
- Works were completed to a very tight builders program with multiple crews and peak manning levels in excess of 20 personnel.
- Night shift works was undertaken to apply the glass flake epoxy to avoid disruption to the site caused by any chemical odour. Approximately 8,500 m2 was sprayed.
