The main centre for ground training in the RAAF today,
RAAF Base Wagga was established in 1940 and housed
No 2 Service Flying Training School, No 31 Squadron, No 5 Operational Training Unit and No 5 Aircraft Depot during World War II.
After the war, the major unit to operate from the base was the School of Technical Training, and that unit has been joined by a variety of other training establishments.
Duratec has been engaged to perform electrical infrastructure upgrades to allow the continuous operations of critical communications equipment throughout the site. The works will enable communication racks within buildings 223, 244 and 442 to be provided with uninterrupted power for a minimum of 6 hours via UPS and standby diesel generator power.
